Investing is not nearly as difficult as it looks. Successful investing involves doing a few things right and avoiding serious mistakes.

About Bogleheads®

We are a community of followers who believe in the teachings of John Bogle, the founder of the Vanguard Group. We follow his simple investing philosophies:

Invest Early & Often

Use Index funds

Keep Costs Low

Never Time the Market

Stay the Course

Minimize Taxes

Take the mystery out of investing. You can do it.

We won’t sell you anything or ask for you to sign up for anything. We are a community of volunteers who enjoy helping others to learn about investing and finance. You don’t need an MBA in Finance to plan for your future.

Bogleheads® are dedicated to helping people begin or improve their investing by applying our investing principles.

3-Fund Portfolio

Your investment portfolio does not need to be complicated with multiple funds. Keep it simple.

Take Care Not to Live Beyond Your Needs

Saving for the future takes pre-planning and wise spending.

Have a Plan

Stick to your plan regardless of market conditions.

Ask Questions

There's plenty of resources on the Bogleheads® website.

Something to think about ...

Even if these topics are not relevant to you at this time, please consider attending anyway. You may learn something you could relay to others, OR you may have some insight that could help others!

TOPIC ONE:

How Will You Ensure Someone Can Take Over Your Financial Affairs if Something Happens to You?

This is especially for those whose partner is not interested in financial matters, or those who do not have a partner and/or adult children who could step in. If you have a good way to explain how to run your affairs in the case of cognitive impairment or death, we need your input!

TOPIC TWO:

Open Forum

NEW!

Overtime Breakout Sessions!

Milford Public Library Community Room

330 Family Drive, Milford, MI 48381; 10:00 am - 12 noon PARKING AVAILABLE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BUILDING.

The Milford Public Library does not sponsor or endorse this event.

Meet-ups are in-person events & NOT virtual at this time. Meeting RSVPs are very much appreciated (so we can plan seating setup).

We are a casual, friendly group. All are WELCOME from novice investors to not-so-novice. All questions welcome. No question is too basic. Come alone or bring friends and family that would like to learn. See map below for meet-up location.

Join us as we discuss interesting topics and also explain a bit about the Bogleheads® investing philosophy!

Please note: We do NOT give out financial advice. We are educational in nature and affiliated with the John C. Bogle Center for Financial Literacy.

Be sure and check out the educational resources on Bogleheads.org
